Bawumia tells the court he is in the witness box today because the declaration made by the second respondent, Electoral Commission in the 2012 elections cannot be supported by the primary evidence he has gathered as the chairman of the committee tasked to investigate alleged irregularities in the 2012 elections. He says as head of committee he received thousands of irregularities on statement of polls and declaration of results known as pink sheets. “We found numerous malpractices and statutory violations and irregularities as evidenced in the primary record of the elections at the polling station called pink sheets." President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of the Islamic Republic of Iran will arrive at the Kotoka International Airport at 17hours GMT on Tuesday April 16, 2013 at the last leg of a three-nation African tour. Dr. Ahmadinejad, who is also Chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), will be in Ghana for a two-day official visit starting with a meeting with President John Dramani Mahama in the Flagstaff House. The Iranian President has already visited Benin, and will be arriving in Ghana from Niger. President Ahmadinejad will co-chair a bilateral meeting between the two countries on Wednesday, lay a wreath at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and address a public lecture at the Islamic University College in Accra.
